Every seven minutes someone in
America permanently loses his or her eyesight. In the Central Florida area alone, there
are as many as eighty thousand people living with blindness or severe vision
impairment. Lighthouse Central Florida
(LCF), the only organization of its kind in the Central Florida area,
offers no-cost vision rehabilitation services to children and adults affected
by severe vision challenges. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, our
operational funds come from the Florida Division of Blind Services, the
United Way, county and city entities, grants, personal donations, and finally
fundraisers such as our annual Sight & Sole walk. The Sight & Sole walk will take place at the exciting new Cranes
Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida on Saturday, March 31stof 2007. We hope to draw thousands to this worthy
event, which has a history of more than 20 years.
