Mad Cow Theatre’s Orlando Cabaret Festival returns May 13-21 on a smaller scale than in previous years, but featuring a hometown favorite.
Davis Gaines, the Edgewater High School graduate who played the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway in more performances than any other actor, will headline the festival with a concert of favorite Broadway songs and popular standards. That show is at 8:15 p.m. May 13, and tickets are $40.
The remainder of the festival features the ongoing “It Was a Very Good Year” series, which this year consists of concerts of songs from 1970 and 1980. Artists represented include the Jackson Five, the Carpenters, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Kenny Rogers and Neil Diamond.
Performing will be Hannah Benitez, Glenn Gover, Heather Kopp and Emily Sheetz. Tickets for the “It Was a Very Good Year” shows are $20.
